Banff Springs Wedding

He realized he couldn’t live without his Singapore girl

The Banff Springs wedding of Milton and Sam marked the final chapter in a University friendship that became a long-distance relationship. Milton had to decide between his life in Edmonton and the Singapore girl he loved.

Getting Ready

Milton and Sam both love the mountains, so decided on a Banff Springs wedding as the perfect location. They would have family and friends coming from far and wide and wanted a destination that everyone would love.

The day began, as they usually do, with Milton and Sam getting ready in separate rooms at the Banff Springs Hotel. They’d opted for wedding day interviews, so we spent about 10 minutes with each of them. The “interviews” are really just a friendly on-camera conversation. We pluck out the best bits and use them to enhance the storytelling in the final video. It adds context and depth.

Banff Springs Wedding Ceremony

Milton and Sam wanted to have a more intimate First Look inside the hotel before their Banff Springs wedding ceremony got underway. They selected a stairway at the other end of the hotel from the Mount Stephen room for a more private location. Once that was complete, we quickly shifted back to get set for the ceremony.

Being devout Christians, Milton and Sam brought along their Pastor to act as officiant. Their ceremony featured string musicians, a beautiful processional, a song performance that everyone participated in, and of course touching personal vows.

Once the ceremony was complete, everyone headed to the Alhambra room for family and group photos. This is the photographer’s show, so we mostly just film some behind-the-scenes action and try to catch some fun candid moments.

Photo/Video Creative Session at Bow Falls

Unfortunately Milton and Sam hadn’t opted for reception video coverage, so our remaining time on location was limited. With roads very busy in Banff townsite, we decided to head down the hill from Banff Springs to nearby Bow Falls. The late summer crowds were minimal at this popular tourist site, so we were able to capture some great video footage of the wedding party, along with some more personal moments with Milton and Sam.
