FAQ
Wedding Filmmaker FAQ
What’s your style ?
We like to visualize you in thirty years or so, sitting by a fire with your grandchildren, watching your wedding film together. We describe our style as “Story First,” weaving together words and beautiful moving images to tell your love story and highlight the best moments from your wedding day. To craft a film that will truly offer lasting value for you and for generations to come.
What is your turnaround time for wedding videos?
We will normally have wedding films ready within 3 months. Sooner, if you need it before then, such as for a family gathering or reception. Ensuring you receive a top quality wedding film is our first priority, but we understand that you will be anxious to see it sooner rather than later! In general, completing your wedding film will likely take a little longer toward the end of the busy summer/fall season.
Do videographers get along with photographers?
Our goal is always to do what’s right for you, and we know that’s true of other vendors as well. We love working with photographers, and respect their time and needs. If we haven’t worked with your photographer before, we always reach out in advance to introduce ourselves and work out a game plan for the day. Also, if you’re still searching for the perfect wedding photographer, we’ve worked with many and would be more than happy to pass on a few recommendations for those whose work we admire most and believe would be a good fit.
Can we have drone coverage for our wedding?
Yes, drone coverage is available as an add-on. Drones are fantastic for showing off beautiful wedding locations. We have a few drones, are fully licensed with Transport Canada, and can capture some amazing footage with them when weather and location permit. We do film quite a few weddings in Banff National Park, where unfortunately their use is strictly prohibited. But there are mountain locations outside the park where we can legally fly. It’s definitely an incredible way to showcase the scenery in wedding videos and even to get some amazing creative aerial footage of you and your wedding party!
How many videographers do I need for my wedding?
You want to keep your budget down and are worried that things will get a little crowded. We totally understand that! We strive to film as unobtrusively as possible, and only have two videographers at the same location when necessary. That usually means when covering your ceremony and reception. Two videographers allow us to film from multiple angles and capture more emotional reactions.
Booking FAQ
We know that reserving a wedding videographer is something you’ve never done before. The experience can be overwhelming, so we make it as simple as possible and guide you every step of the way.
What is your policy for travel expenses?
We don’t charge for travel within a one-hour drive of Calgary and Banff. Beyond that, there may be additional travel costs. We look at this on a case-by-case basis and provide an estimate up front.
What is your payment policy?
Payment is made in thirds: 1/3 on booking to reserve the date, 1/3 two months prior to the wedding, and the final third due one week prior to the big day.
What forms of payment do you accept?
For your convenience, we accept cash, e-transfer, cheques, and all major credit cards. There are no additional processing fees.
What if I have to reschedule my wedding?
If we’re available, and the new date is within one year of the original, we’ll send an amendment to the agreement revising the wedding date and apply any money already paid. In exceptional circumstances (such as for the pandemic) we’ll even reschedule beyond one year.
I’m looking for something different. Can you help?
Our standard wedding collections and the add-ons that are available for each work well for most weddings. But we understand you might have different needs. If you are planning a multi-day wedding, for example, we can put together a custom quote.
When can we expect delivery of our wedding videos?
We understand that you’re anxious to watch your wedding film. Chances are you barely remember most of what happened! Plus it’s cool to see everything from a totally different perspective. Editing a wedding film takes time and that is something shouldn’t be rushed. We have to find the best way to tell your story, select the right footage, choose music that matches your taste, colour grade, and put it all together in a way we know you will love watching and sharing. A lot of time and thought goes into this process.
Our turnaround time for wedding films is normally within 3 months. That being said, in certain cases it may take longer. We can also edit your film faster if needed, such as for an elopement video that will be shown at a reception back home. Just let us know during the booking process.
